My background in NGO management is grounded in a master’s degree in the Management of Civil Society Organizations at Istanbul Medeniyet University. This academic foundation brings together the theory of civil society with the practical dimensions of managing voluntary and nonprofit organizations.
A Distinct Management Field
Civil society organizations differ from businesses and public institutions in how they are structured and managed. My academic training provides a comparative understanding of these differences, together with the ability to examine general management challenges within civil society organizations.
Management and Performance
My background includes analyzing the managerial performance of different civil society organizations and evaluating the performance of their activities. This provides a basis for examining both how an organization is managed and how effectively its activities are carried out.
Resources and People
The field also includes resource needs and alternative methods for addressing them, basic financial and legal matters, and the management of human resources and volunteers within nonprofit organizations.
Research and Context
My understanding of NGO management is supported by the scientific study of civil society concepts, the critical use of relevant literature, and knowledge of the historical development of civil society organizations.
